Correlation between IP addresses and physical locations is done through SNMP protocol in IPLocator. This information is valuable for IP management to ensure that devices are located on the intended locations.

1.The MAC+port binding could be used to form the policy for management, and the system will block the computer from accessing the network once it is not located on the authorized physical location.

2.Build up network topology diagram automatically.

3.Be capable of detecting multiple nodes and paths for each MAC in order to identify the network topology. The user can adjust the network devices and/or topologies outside the defined scope at any time.。

4.Search history records the mappings between MACs and switches/ports in order to identify the physical location records of devices.

5.Control the mappings between network devices and physical locations in real time by using MACs and switches/ports mappings.

6.Query the mapping of MAC/PORT from switches in the internal network periodically in order to control physical locations of MACs in real time.

7.Log the information of 'IP+MAC+Computer Name+Switch+Port+VLan ID' in the system to identify the physical locations of devices.

8.The information is available for switches supporting SNMP v1/v2. The VLan IDs are identified in order to list all the MAC/Port mappings.
